New plastic offers for clamp connectors 13 December 2023

Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, variably configurable and precise – clamp connectors are an indispensable component in mechanical or plant engineering, although these components are usual made of stainless steel or die-cast aluminium. INOCON is expanding its offering to include clamp connectors in a wide variety of configurations made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide.

The connectors, which are temperature-resistant up to 100°C, are used where corrosion resistance is important, where weight needs to be saved or where visual impact is important. The company states its plastic connectors prove to be a popular choice thanks to their extremely smooth and matt surfaces, as well as their colour. In addition to classic black, these connectors are also available in elegant grey.

All variants of these clamp connectors offer dimensional accuracy and high quality – so the plastic variants are by no means seen as cheap alternatives, but rather as high-end solutions with defined load values. Depending on the tightening torque of the screw connections, INOCON lists the axial pull-out force, the radial torsional moment and the torque with the joint axis present. The connectors are designed in such a way that they encompass the entire surface of commercially available construction pipes and thus clamp in a force-fitting manner.

Pipes are fixed using stainless steel cylinder screws and nuts, or by using a clamping lever. INOCON offers the plastic pipe connectors as cross, flange, foot, angle, sleeve, tab and joint connectors in the most important dimensions. If other pipe diameters are required, customers can use specially ribbed reducing bushes, which are also made of polyamide.
