Lederer offers secure assembly 09 August 2013

Lederer says that its railway engineering product spectrum provides all the elements that are required in secure assembly and long-term deployment for track and overhead contact line construction, bogies, superstructures and rail automation.

All the fastening technology necessary for applications in the railway industry can be supplied within the company‘s overall programme. This includes parts that are in accordance with DIN and ISO standards, as well as customised fasteners and special parts manufactured in accordance with prototypes and drawings.

“Renowned customers from a variety of railway engineering segments all over the world have put their trust in Lederer and have done so for many years. This is because of our conscientious cultivation of business relationships. Our yardstick is customer satisfaction – with a view to long-term collaboration, and reciprocal trust, geared towards optimum service and the fulfillment of customer’s procurement needs.”

Lederer’s range contains a wide range of fasteners and clamps suitable for all areas of railway engineering, taking into account the specific requirements that prevail in the industry. Lederer can offer much more than just fasteners, it can also supply many services on request. Lederer can offer mechanical processing, coating, bolt and screw locking, and finally meticulous quality assurance.

Lederer points out that in many applications areas, maximum precision is indispensable. In the production of electronic and fine mechanical components, for example, preference is given to totally burr and chip free articles. As this state cannot always be guaranteed by the usual production and control processes, Lederer offers the alternative option of the most stringent quality assurance possible. Articles with L-Precision are subjected to a 100% control procedure; every part in a delivery, without exception, is examined and any foreign material present is removed.

All incoming and outgoing parts undergo systematic quality control and appraisal. Physical and chemical properties are investigated and compared with the requirements using modern measuring equipment.

The DGQ-trained employees in Lederer’s in-house testing department have state-of-the art tools for quality assurance at their disposal. The diverse spectrum encompasses mechanical measuring devices such as micrometers, depth gauges and plug gauges, material testing apparatus and projectors, and the latest x-ray and spectral analysis devices.

All measurement and test results are documented in a software solution developed especially for this purpose.

Lederer says that these permanent tests force its suppliers to deliver nothing but high quality products, as Lederer does not collaborate with any manufacturers that fail to reach this standard.
