Good connections with fischer fixing systems 15 December 2017

China has been investing intensively in its infrastructure for years. This includes the expansion of the rail network in many cities and in the countryside. The fischer group of companies is providing support to many of these large-scale projects with its fixing systems and on-site service solutions. For example, more than 750,000 fischer fixings were used during the construction of the new metro line 1 in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province in Southwest China. Electrical cables, communication systems, guard doors and firefighting systems were securely and firmly installed using these fixings.

The Guiyang metro line 1 has been under construction from 2014 and is predicted to end in 2018. Upon completion, the route will run from north west to south of the capital of the Guizhou province in Southwest China. There will be a total of 24 stops along the 34km route.

“While constructing the underground track, the construction personnel were confronted by complex geological and hydrological conditions, including natural disasters such as earthquakes”, Jiang Zong, managing director of fischer China says, describing the circumstances. “It was therefore crucial to select high-quality products that meet the high requirements. Following intensive consultation, the experts quickly recognised the immense advantages of fischer’s products and services”.

The trade partners benefited from the single source solutions which allowed all fixing plans to be carried out safely and economically while also being easy to install. Overall, the installers used the fischer injection mortar FIS HB with the powerful bonded expansion anchor FHB approximately 60,000 times to secure the brackets of the contact network for the energy supply to the electric vehicles and stationary equipment. The system achieves the highest load values in cracked concrete, requiring fewer anchoring points and smaller anchor plates.

660,000 sets of the fischer Zykon undercut anchor FZA were used to install the brackets for the ring network and communication systems. With its special undercut technology, the fixing ensures firm connections with maximum security. After inserting the anchor, the expansion sleeve is driven over the cone using the accompanying setting tool, while the undercut drill hole is filled with a positive fit. The installers used a further 20,000 FZA anchors to install the firefighting systems. The fischer internal thread anchor RG M was used 12,000 times in combination with the injection mortar FIS EM for the installation of the guard doors. The system allows maximum load transfer in cracked concrete and is also approved for seismic applications.

fischer has already previously been involved in several projects for the expansion of the Beijing metro network, including the airport line as well as the underground line S1. The company has also supported the construction and expansion of many other network routes in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuxi, Wuhan, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Ningbo and other cities. Fischer says it aims to assist its customers in China throughout the entire construction process together with its Chinese subsidiary for the fitting of products and services, which is hopes will make an important contribution towards mobility in China - helping people and goods reach their destination faster.
