Successful start-up for tradespeople 03 March 2020

The fischer Group of Companies and the GC-Group will be developing the successful Craftnote App for tradespeople together from now on. The App allows any information related to a project to be stored in a central location, where employees can exchange information via the App anywhere and at any time.

fischer and the GC-Group are joining forces in a strategic partnership in order to further develop the start-up that was founded in 2018. The two companies are seizing the opportunities that digitalisation offers the construction industry and are providing an ideal platform with Craftnote which also allows the trade to benefit from automated processes.

“A manufacturer is setting up a start-up with the support of a business in order to facilitate project communication and coordination for the specialist trade. This cooperation between the fischer Group of Companies and the GC-Group serves as an example of a professional cooperative partnership,” says Thomas Werner, general partner of Cordes & Graefe KG, the holding company of the GC-Group.

As a communication and project management platform, Craftnote offers trade businesses added value in addition to a practical and compliant alternative to solutions such as WhatsApp. The App was purposely designed as an open platform that is available to any manufacturer and retailer and can be connected to any type of trade software. At the core of the App lies the project-based chat function and a folder structure that allows even the most complex construction plans to be mapped. All communication and documentation therefore takes place within the dedicated project.

The App’s pro version can be downloaded free of charge and includes multiple features such as file storage and task lists for employees. Paid modules will also soon be available as an expansion to the app and will include digital forms, signatures and interfaces, for instance.

The Craftnote data is stored in a backup system, therefore meeting General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. More than 35,000 professionals are already using the App, which will now continuously be developed by fischer and the GC-Group and can be downloaded online.
