fischer secures Finland’s Lapland Central Hospital 04 May 2021

The universal channel system FUS by the fischer Group of Companies is being used to fasten the pipes, ventilation ducts and cable trays in the extensive renovation and expansion of the Central Hospital, Finland.

In total, 300 different products from fischer’s range of installation and fixing systems and electrical installations will be fitted in the Lapland Central Hospital. The project will extend the surface area of the Central Hospital in Lapland by 26,600m², almost doubling the current space.

The FUS 41/2.5 channels combined with their respective construction elements provide the installations with a secure hold. The use of push through connections allows the quick and simple connection of channels and construction elements with a fully flexible construction.

“In total, over 300 different products from fischer’s range of installation and fixing systems and electrical installations will be used,” reports Dominik Binanzer, head of the installation systems business unit at the fischer Group of Companies. “Due to our close long-term cooperation, Are, the general contractor responsible for the technical building service at Lapland’s Central Hospital, knows they can rely on the quality of our products and services. We have been the company’s main supplier since 2019.”

“In addition to the installation and fixing systems which fulfil the project and customer requirements, we also convinced our client with our comprehensive range of services,” says Jere Makkonen, managing director of the fischer subsidiary in Finland. “Our services thereby support the building services contractors as early on as during the planning stage as well as during the technical preparations. We will accompany those responsible for the project throughout every construction phase until the project’s successful completion.”

fischer used 3D data and professional load calculation tools to efficiently calculate and display the design while planning the fastenings in the hospital. The structural software applications can be used to generate quick and simple verification based on applicable standards. As part of fischer’s Fixperience design software, the Install-Fix tool was used to calculate the installation systems along with suitable plugs and documentation in a simple and easy manner.
