NORMA Group receives major electric vehicle order 01 December 2022

NORMA has won a new major order for joining solutions in electric vehicles. From July 2023 until 2030, the company will equip several of the customer’s battery electric models with hose connectors, hose adapters and quick connectors. The order has a total volume of around €34.6 million.

“In our strategic business unit ‘Mobility and New Energy’, we consistently focus on the requirements of our customers. With our experience as a development partner and our certified production standards, we are very well positioned to support our customers in their technological transition towards emission-free mobility,” says Dr. Michael Schneider, CEO, NORMA Group.

NORMA’s connection products, which have been in the company’s portfolio for many years, are installed in cooling water lines and are used to cool various units in the vehicle, including the battery. Development engineers at NORMA specially adapted the products for this order in cooperation with the customer.

“We want to continue growing in the European automotive market and are delighted to receive an order from a long-standing customer for its new electric models. It confirms once again that our engineered joining technology can be used with all drives,” adds Andreas Weber, vice president business development mobility and new energy EMEA, Norma Group.

The joining products are manufactured at NORMA’s plants in Maintal, Germany, as well as in Pilica, Poland. Some of the parts include a temperature sensor to ensure optimal operating temperature. With the aim of meeting increased demand, NORMA is making investments in injection molding production at the Maintal site, in new assembly machines for quick connectors and in training employees.
