Ensuring a faultless connection 25 February 2022

NORMA Group has launched quick connectors with QR codes, the SR QR Code quick connectors, to help ensure a faultless connection of fluid transport systems in vehicles.

Complying with to SAE specifications, the SR QR Code quick connector can be used with all types of powertrains. It is suitable for systems that transport cooling water, hydrogen, fuel and other fluids in cars and trucks. The QR code makes it possible to check and assert a secure connection of the fluid system during assembly. This reduces the risk of leakage of fluids in a car, such as cooling liquid in battery electric vehicles, fuel in cars with an internal combustion engine or hydrogen in fuel cell vehicles.

A QR code is printed on the connector, but fully revealed only if the locking retainer has been pushed down and a secure connection between spigot and quick connector has been established. Scanning the code confirms the successful insertion of the spigot. “With the SR QR Code quick connectors, our customers can digitally check and track critical connections instead of relying on the individual operator,” says Michael Eisner, vice-president business development of NORMA Group’s APAC business. “We enable customers to further digitise manufacturing processes and to increase quality and safety standards.”

“The safety of passengers is our highest priority when developing our mission critical solutions. With the SR QR Code quick connector, we utilise state of the art digital possibilities to contribute to a safe journey of all passengers at any time.”
